A Huge Thank You from the Engineering Pathway

To all of the families who came out to cheer our students on during our Engineering Expo Extravaganza on December 8th, thank you so much! Mr. Meyers handed me a stack of thank you letter that students wrote to express their gratitude for not only our wonderful judges who came to give industry feedback on the projects, but also to all of the families who showed up in droves to invest in our young engineers.  I plucked a few letters of the many, many gems that were shared with me and wanted to pass along their notes of thanks.  Take a look at photos and videos from the night on our website as well.

Additionally, we are overwhelmed by the number of families who asked how else they can support our engineering academy, financially or otherwise.  We do have an academy account through our PTSO which can take financial donations that can be earmarked for the academy via check and cash. Checks can be made out to Woodrow Wilson  PTSO and sent at attn to me, Regina McClure, or it can be dropped off at the school. We are working on a virtual option to donate and will send that out when we have it in place.

Another area of support we need (coming up quickly) are host engineering employers for our summer internships.  If you work in the engineering, computer science, or health science field and you would like to interview and host summer interns from our academy, let me know and I’m happy to set up a meeting to talk about the perimeters and how we can get you connected with our Career Ready Internship program  if its a good fit for you (so the students can get premium pay through the city).  You can also express interest via the website.
