DC Summer Conservation Crew Program

Join the Student Conservation Association’s 2022 DC Summer Conservation Crew Program.

SCA’s 2022 DC Summer Conservation Program will have teams of high school members, aged 15-19, working in parks throughout the D.C. Metro Area. Members of the program will be assigned to a designated park where they will complete hands-on conservation projects such as; invasive species removal, habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and trail construction. Past work locations have included; Rock Creek Park, Fort DuPont Park, Greenbelt Park, George Washington Memorial Park, and other locations. Members of the program will gain valuable job skills training, participate in environmental education activities, and receive an SCA uniform. Join a team where diversity is celebrated, members build meaningful connections to public lands, and conservation and creative problem solving go hand in hand. No prior outdoor work experience is needed but a willingness and interest in working outside is required!

Summer conservation crew member benefits:

  • Earn $10/hour working full time (35 hours/week) Mon Fri
  • Participate in 6 week program, running from July 5 to August 12, 2022
  • Work in local parks (Rock Creek Park, Greenbelt Park, Fort DuPont Park, for example) doing hands on conservation trail work
  • Obtain valuable work skills, career networking, and green job training
  • Receive a gear package at beginning of summer

Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 3:30pm and Fridays 7:30 am – 12:30pm
