Internships in the NAF Academies

There are three types of internships for SciMaTech Students.

Career Ready Internship (CRI)

Student Registration for CRI is open now!

This opportunity is for current NAF Academy juniors and seniors who have completed at least the first course and are currently at least in the second. If eligible, you should have received an invite from Ms. McClure.

Career Ready Internships (CRI)

CRI is a paid, 6-week summer internship for 11th and 12th grade CTE students to intern with an employer aligned to their career cluster.

Advanced Internship Program (AIP)

AIP is a paid internship for 36 weeks for 8-12 hours a week during their 11th or 12 grades.

Student Designed

Students can design their own internship with approval from their department head and NAF Director.

What is CRI?

Summer internship - late June to early July

Hours & Wages

20-25 hours a week for 6 weeks.

$15.20 per hour.

Who is Eligible?

Priority for 11th & 12th grade CTE Students who have completed at least the 1st level academy course and are enrolled in the 2nd-level course.

Advanced Internship Program (AIP)

What is AIP?

An internship that runs through the school year - September/October through May

Hours & Wages

8-12 hours a week for approximately 36 weeks

$16.10 an hour and credit-bearing

Who is Eligible?

11th & 12th grade CTE students enrolled in 4th-level CTE course.  Or co-enrolled in 3rd and 4th level CTE courses.

Student Designed Internships

What is a Student Designed Internship?

These are internships that a student creates based on their own source of an employer or mentor.

Hours & Wages

Hours should meet the criteria for CRI and AIP.  Wages should be similar.

Who is Eligible?

11th & 12th grade CTE students enrolled in 4th-level CTE course.  Or co-enrolled in 3rd and 4th level CTE courses.

Run By?

The student working with the NAF Director and employer.
