Reminder: Blood and Be-The-Match Drive March 21 (Parents too!)
On March 21, Jackson-Reed is hosting a blood drive in honor of Reilly Webb, a former Jackson-Reed student who passed away due to leukemia. Students who are 16 years or older may pick up a consent form in the atrium or fill out the consent form attached. Parents are also welcome and encouraged to donate, the more the merrier!
If you plan to donate (parent or student!), please fill out tinyurl.com/DonateForBloodDrive2022. The event will last all day and all students who donate will be excused from class. All donors will receive free snacks and a free shirt. Donating 1 pint saves three lives. If you have any questions, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year, Jackson-Reed is also partnering with Be-The-Match. Be The Match connects patients with life-threatening blood cancers and diseases with a matching donor for blood stem cell transplants. With one swab, you will join the registry to see if you will be a potential match. The Be-The-Match drive will take place on the same day as the Blood Drive, March 21. More information can be viewed in the attached fliers.
