CRI is a paid opportunity for Career & Technical Education (CTE)
students to intern at a company aligned to their CTE career cluster

Student Benefits

  • Gain real-world work experience completing industry specific
    projects/tasks in the career field of your CTE program
  • Earn $16.10 an hour, working up to 25 hours per week for six
    weeks in the summer (tentatively 6/26-8/4)
  • Receive professional mentorship and develop professional skills

Next Steps

  • Complete professional skills training (such as Tenacity)
  • Submit resume to CTE/NAF leader by 2/24
  • Interview with host employers
  • Sign placement notice and provide SSN (if you have one)
  • Attend intern orientation

Registration Period

November 23, 2022 - January 20, 2023

  • Students must register as prospective interns by January 20th.  Click here to access student application on Transeo
  • Application components include contact information, school information and parent/guardian details.

Professional Skills Training

December 2022 - February 2023

  • School Districts offer professional development workshops (i.e. resume writing, mock interviews, power skills development) for CTE students, in preparation for internship period.
  • You are required to submit a resume by February 24.  Please share your completed resume with your CTE teacher or Academy Director on or before this deadline.

Position Descriptions & Sign Ups

  • Review position descriptions and sign up for Week 1 interviews on February 27-March 3.
  • Review position descriptions and sign up for Week 2 interviews on March 6-10.

Interviews

March 2023

  • Interview with employers to identify the best internship opportunity.
  • Interviews occur by industry:
    • March 14: On-Ramps interviews
    • March 15: Hospitality & Tourism, Culinary Arts, Finance interviews
    • March 16: Global Service & Diplomacy Public Leadership interviews; Education & Training and Mass Media interviews
    • March 20: Health Science & Biotechnology interviews
    • March 21: Information Technology; Auto Tech interviews
    • March 22: Engineering, Architecture & Construction interviews
    • March 23: On-ramps interviews

Placements

May 2023

  • You will be able to view your internship placements through the Transeo platform on May 9.  The platform will include your placement and supervisor’s contact information.
  • You and your parent will need to sign the placement notice by May 17 to accept or decline your internship placement.

Student & Family Orientation

May 2023

  • We will be offering a required Student & Family orientation.  Please attend one of the following options: May 31, 6:00 pm or June 3, 11:30 am

Review Week 1 Schedule

June 2023

  • Your employer will email a week 1 schedule, which will include meeting times, addresses or links and clear instructions for the start of your internship.

Internship Period

Tentatively June 26 - August 4, 2023

  • Be prepared to fully participate in your Career Ready internship for six weeks.  Start and end dates may vary by 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Interns age 14+ may work up to 25 hours per week.
